The last verse in particular is gruesome, and points to the utter punishment awaiting those who reject God's grace and His vision for the future. He suggests that some of these horsemen would have settled in Britain after their period of service. Certainly succeeds in immersing the reader in the setting. While the novels Manstopper, Kane and Shadow Dance are all excellent novels, it is apparent that Michael Prescott has come a long way in his ability to tell suspenseful stories. I don't know exactly how to express my feelings about this book. Anyone who loves and wants to better understand animals, will appreciate the well-researched insight that Tim Friend conveys in this book.
