If a child (or an adult) has any interest in investigating very large numbers, this is perfect. Simon is a non-fiction genius. Living an appalling life with an irredeemably appalling husband, doing nothing but her best, working harder than anyone, giving everything, she was abused by husband and daughters alike. I really wish someone would have checked it before it sent. This is a very fun read and perfect for a “Z” in Alphabet Challenge at the end of the year. I was disappointed with the direction the book took. The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press.
